Swarthmore College
Swarthmore College was founded in 1864 by a group of Quakers known as the Hicksites. Today it is widely recognized as one of the nation’s premier liberal arts colleges. Founded in part by Lucretia Mott, famous alumni include Nancy Roman, the ‘Mother of the Hubble Telescope’, and Michael Dukakis, Governor of Massachusetts and 1988 Presidential Candidate.
