Swarthmore Train Station
In 1855, a train line was built from Media to Philadelphia, with a station called ‘Westdale’. In 1870, Swarthmore College requested that the name be changed to Swarthmore Station. The current station building was constructed in 1876. The line was originally built by the West Chester and Philadelphia Railroad and bought by SEPTA in 1983.
